The presentation will show results and implications from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor’s (GEM) recently released 12th annual survey. GEM is the largest and most comprehensive worldwide study of entrepreneurs around the world, measuring the attitudes of a population and the activities and characteristics of individuals participating in various phases of entrepreneurship. Also revealed are the entrepreneurs’ aspirations for growth, internationalization and innovation, along with other key features of their ventures. In 2010, 59 economies, including China, participated in GEM.
The report will be presented by report coauthor Donna Kelley, an entrepreneurship professor at Babson College and a member of the oversight board of the GEM project. Babson College is a co-founding and lead sponsoring institution of GEM. Ranked the top entrepreneurship school in the U.S. since 1994 by U.S. News and World Report, Babson is also partnering with Zhejiang University and EM Lyon on the Global Entrepreneurship Program, which grants master’s degrees to students studying in France, China and the U.S.
